Before you do anything to stop dog barking, you must understand your dog’s primary behavior. Why does it bark? Well, just think about what you do when you are agitated, pissed off or nervous? Some people choose to verbalize their anger and nervousness by cursing or shouting. So do dogs. They bark most of the times. A person can be educated in order not to express their negative feelings and behave socially acceptable, but a dog has the intelligence of a small child. So what can you do to stop dog barking? Well, you should offer your dog a proper obedience training that will employ some techniques, and these will prevent your dog from barking all the time.

Barking can become annoying both for you and your neighbors. When your dog is barking you need to identify the reasons. Make sure your dog has enough food and water, as this might be a reason for barking. Also, if you keep your dog outside, make sure it has a shelter during the winter and some shade during the summer. Also, if you keep your dog tied to a leash it will become frustrated, and will bark. So to stop dog barking caused by frustration, you can walk your dog from time to time or let it run in a park or the yard.As the owner of a barking dog, you can also pay attention to the situations that make your dog bark and avoid all that trigger this behavior of your pet. Another thing that you can do to stop dog barking is to show your disapproval when your dog is barking. Leave your dog alone and say some words that have a negative meaning for your dog. However you have to avoid aggression. Don’t be aggressive when your dog is barking. Most of the times, the barking is triggered by fear and if you are being aggressive towards your dog will intensify the barking. But, instead of being aggressive you can use a shock collar. This item can have the effect you wish for and your dog will learn that barking is not a behavior that you like.

A revolutionary technique to stop dog barking is the debarking surgery. The barking of a dog is produced by a tissue which is located on each side of the dog’s larynx. This tissue vibrates and has as a result the barking. Removing this tissue will stop the sound produced by the barking. However, many people disapprove of this technique as it is as if stopping a dog from expressing itself.
